The Palazzo Ducale has been the centre of political and city life in Lucca for eight centuries. Following the major restoration work begun in 1998, it now not only presents a review of the history of Lucca which is open to the city and its inhabitants, but is also a centre for numerous cultural, artistic and social events.
Since the beginning of 2000, the staterooms have annually hosted exhibitions, meetings, concerts and educational activities chiefly directed at highlighting important aspects of the Province’s history and culture and promoting creativity and contemporary art.
